Atlantis Found? Ancient Giants, Anomalous Fossils & The Pillar of Hercules
The Richat Structure in Mauritania has many similarities with the ancient Egyptians & Plato's description of Atlantis. Now one of the Pillars of Hercules has been found nearby.
AN likes to look into something a little less serious than vaccination death rates & false flag terrorism once in awhile & one of the area’s AN finds interesting is archaeology & human origins. There are numerous anomalous finds that throw the accepted narrative of human evolution into question. Obviously, AN is not here to discuss them all because it would take too long. We’re going to discuss a couple, such as Broken Hill Man, the first Hominid discovered in Africa in what was then Northern Rhodesia now Zambia, & what is known as Goliaths Footprint, a remarkable site in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
But let’s start with the Richat Structure in Mauritania, North West Africa.
A few years ago, we made friends with a Dutch chap we met on Facebook’s Ancient Aliens group. This gentleman spent exhaustive hours scanning Google Earth’s satellite images of our planet in the pursuit of anomalies & interesting sites. This chap was very interested in the ancient stone circles that litter South Africa & stretch into bordering Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, & can even be found as far north as Mauritania as well as on the Arabian peninsula.
While scanning Mauritania for more he found this.
An immense pillar appears to be laying in the Mauritanian Sahara, around 250km SW of the Richat Structure itself.
Incidentally, our Dutch friend departed Facebook not longer after complaining of death threats for posting about the Pillar. We lost touch as a result but felt that the Pillar baton had been passed to us.
Legend/myth has it that the entrance to Atlantis was guarded by The Pillars of Hercules, for some reason up to now thought to refer to the promontory of the Rock of Gibraltar & any number of peaks on the Moroccan side of the Straits of Gibraltar. Obviously, the discovery of an actual pillar throws some shade over the Rock of Gibraltar/Pillar of Hercules thesis.
But this discovery does also offer powerful supportive evidence that an advanced, truly ancient civilisation existed in this area & as the only evidence that such a civilisation existed here is at the Richat Structure, it’s reasonable to assume that the Pillar & the Structure are related.
Mainstream archaeology & geology had been mystified by the Richat site for some time. No evidence exists of any kind of extra-terrestrial impact or that the site results from an earthbound volcano, both of which, like the 9/11 incident, would have resulted in the production of metallic microsphere’s in abundance in the surrounding terrain, none of which have ever been found. So an “eroded dome” thesis was invented to give a natural explanation for the site.
You can read more about the accepted explanation for Richat easily by searching the eroded dome term. As far as AN is aware, the Richat Structure is the only example on the planets surface of any ancient eroded domes. Happy to be corrected if anyone knows of other examples.
Many of the other evidence supportive of the Richat-as-Atlantis thesis are discussed here by Bright Insight -
And this guy, who calls himself Indie Archaelogy, has visited the Richat Structure to search for evidence that the site is all that’s left of ancient Atlantis -
AN has been informing both of these guys, as well as others such as Graham Hancock, of the discovery of what is very likely one of the Pillars of Hercules.
We should bear in mind before we move onto other anomalies, that this pillar is immense. Prior to it’s collapse in the 90’s, the Warsaw Radio Tower stood at 646 metre’s & was the worlds tallest structure. The Pillar in Mauritania is 661 metre’s long & if we presume it was once standing, that would have made it an incredible feat of engineering, for it’s time. If the Pillar does indeed stem from the time when Atlantis was said to have been a thriving city, 12 000 years ago, it’s size is almost impossible to reconcile. Indeed, we upset an actual archaeologist with discussion of the pillar so much that he eventually decided that this thing didn’t even look like a pillar & was probably just some sort of satellite image anomaly. Unfortunately for our doubter, the Pillar does look exactly like the many millions of pillars all over the world & can be seen using multiple different satellite resources.
Our doubter did however suggest we us Bing to examine the site, which AN found very useful as it meant we now had three satellite resources to employ rather than just two. All three show the exact same scene, an ancient & immense pillar

Our doubter also decided that such an immense construction would never have stood under it’s own weight & even if it had, it would have crumbled upon collapsing. Which is all fair enough except that thing is clearly there, it exists, it looks exactly like a pillar. Once cut out of the surrounding bedrock, the pillar might well have been left un-erected, as we have seen in both Lebanon & in Egypt, where an immense obelisk cracked & was thus left in situ. But there does appear to be a circular base just to the east of the Pillar which could be seen as evidence that the pillar did indeed once stand.

One of the most common arguments meant to dismiss Richat-as-Atlantis, is that Atlantis was supposed to have been an island which sunk beneath the waves. How then could Atlantis have been land-locked in Mauritania?
Bright Insight shows that vast amounts of water once flowed through this area in a massive flood that Bright Insight reckons came from the Mediterranean Sea. But Graham Hancock’s Comet Impact thesis suggests that an immense flood of water from the north American ice sheets flowed into the Atlantic in the wake of Comet fragment impacts in north America. The resulting Tsunami/Tidal Wave could have destroyed Atlantis first from the west but then backwashed from the region of the Med back across the Sahara. The backwash left a great deal of evidence of vast amounts of flowing water that Bright Insight illustrates in the image below.
The image above clearly shows a huge amount of water erosion in the area of the Richat & it came from the latest Bright Insight video on youtube discussing the Richat-as-Atlantis thesis.
Bright Insight on Richat-as-Atlantis, December 2022
AN was hoping to find the image below online but in the end we had to take one using the reproduction in America Before, by Graham Hancock. The image illustrates the suspected region of comet fragments impact on the Laurentide Ice sheet which would have resulted in catastrophic, almost instant melting of the enormous amounts of ice, producing an immense flood that travelled all the way across the Atlantic & inundated Atlantis & the rest of Saharan Africa. The resultant melt water also raised the sea level throughout the world, drowning many other archaeological sites often now being found off the coasts that we know.
For anyone who thinks, like our erstwhile archaeologist friend, that the Richat-as-Atlantis thesis is crazy, or that the pillar doesn’t even look like a pillar, should probably stop reading now. We’re going to consider a few pieces of evidence that ancient giants might once have roamed our planet. If there really were advanced ancient giants on earth in pre-history, then many of the archaeological mysteries & anomalies that litter our planet, much like the inexplicable size of the Pillar of Hercules, are much more easily explained. Perhaps that’s why mainstream archaeology is so eager to dismiss the idea of ancient giants.
A few years before we met the Dutchman on Facebook Ancient Aliens group, we discovered a video by controversial South African, Michael Tellinger, showing a huge footprint in ancient granite, not far from where Tellinger lives in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Michael Tellinger & Goliaths Footprint in Mpumalanga, South Africa
I visited the site myself in 2017 & was entirely convinced that this print simply cannot be the result of natural erosion. Erosion doesn’t wear down the shape of a foot while at the same time leaving the steeped up mud at the toes. Erosion tends to wear down, not up. I was not convinced that the footprint could be the result of natural erosion. It looks exactly like the real thing to me, except of course, it’s a bit bigger.
The print is also very old, here we have an image taken 100 years ago.
The African locals venerate the footprint & hold legends about it that go back many thousands of years.
Michael Tellinger has also found further evidence of out-sized ancients. This video shows Tellinger & friend discovering a very large shoulder blade.

Michael Tellinger also found a fossilised stone heart that appears to be at least three times the size of a present-day human heart.
I presented this image as evidence of giants to a respected fossils curator in South Africa who informed me that soft tissue can never be fossilised. This turned out to be false, as shown by this fossilised frog 34 million years old & by the discovery of soft tissue in a fossilised stone dinosaur 75 million years old.

The curator of fossils to whom we presented Tellinger’s out-sized stone heart works in the same place where the Berg Aukus hip-bone, found in a 1960’s tin mine in Namibia, is housed. The hip-bone is thought to have belonged to an ancient Heidelbergensis & is around twice the size of a present day hip-bone. This suggests an individual of around 10 to 12 feet tall.
In 2009 a report emerged from Oxford university of the discovery at Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana of some rather inexplicably enormous stone-age hand-axes. The image below shows some of these discoveries alongside a hand-axe of normal size.
Giant stone-age axes found in African lake basin
Unless ancient stone-age Hominids were wasting time producing out-sized hand-axes for display in their fancy caves, rather than foraging or hunting for food & struggling to survive, the size of these things is tricky to explain without ancient stone-age giants being around to fashion & wield them.
In 2018, AN attended a talk by Michael Tellinger in London. During the talk, Tellinger made some outlandish claims, including one that suggests much of the ancient slate called Hornfels in South Africa is actually the remains of shattered ancient giants & other creatures. AN found this claim pretty unbelievable.
But a year or so later while exploring the bush around Hartbeespoort Dam, in North West Province, not far from Pretoria, we found a piece of Hornfels that appears to support Tellinger's thesis that the rocks are the remnants of ancient giants & other creatures. See for yourselves.
So let’s quickly recap. There’s a massive pillar laying in Mauritania not far from Richat Structure. Atlantis was said to have been guarded by two massive Pillars of Hercules. The pillar in Mauritania is immense & is powerful supportive evidence for the Richat-as-Atlantis thesis. The construction of such an immense pillar might have been easier had Atlantis been occupied by ancient giants, & there appears to be some albeit highly controversial evidence that ancient giants may well have roamed our world, Africa in particular, in some primordial pre-history. There is evidence to support Graham Hancock’s theory that this & other advanced ancient civilisations were destroyed by the multiple impacts on earth of comet fragments about 12 000 years ago & the terrain around the Richat Structure & covering most of the western Sahara shows what appears to be vast water erosion, suggestive of a truly unimaginably destructive ancient flood. This might explain how legend holds that Atlantis “sunk”. Perhaps it was instead inundated by an immense tsunami emanating from the comet impacts on the north American ice-age ice-sheet.
Finally, we have another anomalous & mysterious discovery in the form of Broken Hill Man, the first Hominid ever recovered in Africa in 1921. Originally thought to be a unique species & titled Homo Rhodesiensis, BHM has now been identified as Homo Heidelbergensis, first found in Germany. Broken Hill Man is not a Neanderthal, none of whom have been found south of the Atlas mountains.
I am sure you noticed the small, circular wound on the visible side of BHM’s head. For some reason, BHM is rarely shown with both sides of the skull. So let’s look at both sides.
Mainstream science & archaeology is perhaps less than eager to consider that BHM’s head wounds are related to each other & even less eager to consider that the wound is characteristic of a modern day bullet head wound. The small entry wound on BHM’s left is corresponded by a much larger exit wound on the right. BHM’s entry wound, if that’s what it is, shows no “striations” which would radiate out from around the edges of the wound, had it been produced by a slower moving projectile such as an arrow or a spear. Extremely high speed projectiles like bullets do not leave striations on impact but they do produce much larger exit wounds, as shown on BHM’s right hand side.
Other explanations for the wound are that BHM was too close to either an asteroid impact or an ancient volcano & that this creature was struck by a round or bullet-like fragment of rock travelling at high speed. This is remotely plausible. Another explanation is that BHM was killed by a predator that sunk one of it’s teeth into BHM’s head leaving a tooth hole & breaking apart the skull where the larger exit wound is apparent. Less plausible but still remotely possible, but surely a bite would result in striations...
Broken Hill Man is now thought to be at least 300 000 years old, predating the Chinese discovery of gun-powder by about 298 000 years.
Is it possible that BHM is evidence of ancient use of modern technology? A gun? Is the giant footprint in Mpumalanga evidence of the presence on our planet of ancient giants? And is the Pillar of Hercules in the Mauritanian Sahara evidence that the Richat Structure just 250km north east of the Pillar is the site of ancient Atlantis?
AN is not here to tell you how to think or what to think. How you think & what you think of these discoveries is entirely up to you, dear reader.
Thanks for taking the time.
Thanks for the article. VERY interesting.
